· Ensure prosecutors meet victims as early as possible to understand their experience, build trust, and assess case viability informed by their perspective.
· Implement vertical prosecution—having the same prosecutor handle a case from start to finish in sexual assault and domestic violence cases—to enhance continuity, rapport, and trust.
· Strengthen resources for the Crime Victims Unit, ensuring victims get timely, clear information about their rights, the process, and available support—including assistance for critical services.
· Formalize collaboration protocols with community advocates and cultural liaisons to reach diverse populations and ensure accessible engagement.
· Adopt evidence-based prosecution, empowering the office to move forward even when victims are unable or reluctant to cooperate, especially in special victim cases—focusing on available evidence while minimizing pressure on victims.
· Commit to regular trauma-informed, victim-centered training for prosecutors and support staff, with emphasis on recognizing and dismantling rape myths, victim-blaming language, and trauma responses.
· Saratoga County District Attorney’s Office already operates with a strong Domestic Violence Unit and Crime Victims Unit—staffed with dedicated crime victim specialists, talented prosecutors and devoted investigators.
· The initiative would enhance and expand these existing frameworks—especially by emphasizing proactive engagement, evidence-based prosecution, and cultural accessibility, making the support even more resilient.
· A victim-based prosecution model goes beyond punitive responses—it fosters trust, lowers barriers to reporting, reduces trauma, and pursues justice without overburdening survivors.
· It aligns with national best practices, reflects Saratoga County’s history of victim advocacy, and builds a responsive, effective, and compassionate justice system.
As your next District Attorney, I will fight to restore balance, common sense, and public safety to our criminal justice system. New York’s bail reform laws, passed in 2019 and expanded in the years since, have tied the hands of prosecutors and judges, endangered our communities, and weakened the rule of law. These so-called reforms have allowed repeat offenders, violent criminals, and those with extensive rap sheets to walk free without accountability. Let me be clear: Bail reform, in its current form, is broken. And I will not sit by while Saratoga County pays the price.
I will work with law enforcement, local officials, and our state legislators—such as Senator Jim Tedisco and Assemblywoman Mary Beth Walsh—to support legislation that restores judicial discretion in pretrial detention decisions. Judges should be empowered to consider a defendant’s danger to the community.
Where bail is currently prohibited, I will push for the use of stronger pretrial supervision tools—including GPS monitoring, mandatory drug testing, and mental health evaluations—to ensure released individuals are held accountable.
I will establish a Repeat Offender Alert System within the DA’s Office to monitor individuals who have been arrested multiple times while out on pretrial release. This will help us build stronger cases, advocate for remand where possible, and provide judges with detailed histories during arraignment so can make informed decisions.
Too often, the voices of crime victims have been lost in this debate. I will ensure victims are notified of bail hearings, understand their rights, and have a voice in pretrial decisions.
I will issue a public safety report showing the impact of bail reform on Saratoga County: including rates of re-offense, failure to appear, and violent crime trends. The public deserves to know what’s really happening in their communities.
I will always put the safety of Saratoga County families first. Bail reform may be a state law, but we don’t have to surrender to it. As District Attorney, I’ll fight every day to push back against policies that make our streets less safe—and to stand up for the law-abiding citizens and victims who deserve justice.
As a candidate for Saratoga County District Attorney, I am going to work to create a Veterans Court in our county — because the men and women who served our country with courage and sacrifice deserve a justice system that understands their unique challenges and helps them get back on track. Too many veterans return home carrying the invisible wounds of war — PTSD, trauma, addiction — and far too often, these issues lead to involvement with the criminal justice system. It’s time we deal with the root causes, not just the symptoms. As District Attorney, I will:
- Establish a dedicated Veterans Court in Saratoga County focused on rehabilitation over punishment.
- Partner with veterans’ service organizations to ensure access to mental health care, substance abuse treatment, housing, job training, and peer mentorship.
- Give veterans a second chance to rebuild their lives with dignity and support — not stigma and isolation.
- Treat veterans with the honor they’ve earned by creating a path toward accountability, healing, and hope. Our veterans have done so much for us. Now it’s our turn to step up for them.
A Veterans Court isn’t just smart justice — it’s just the right thing to do.
I am firmly committed to protecting the health and safety of our residents as we confront the growing threat of fentanyl in our communities.
Fentanyl is a deadly synthetic opioid that is increasingly responsible for overdoses and deaths in Saratoga County and across the nation. The devastating effects of this drug cannot be overstated — it destroys families, burdens our emergency responders, and leaves heartbreak in its wake. As the next Saratoga County District Attorney, I will take a two-pronged approach to address this crisis:
Holding Drug Dealers Accountable:
- I will aggressively pursue those who traffic fentanyl and poison our communities for profit. These individuals are not just selling drugs — they are endangering lives. We will use every tool available under the law to investigate, prosecute, and seek meaningful prison sentences for those who distribute this lethal substance in Saratoga County.
Offering Help and Hope to Those Struggling with Addiction:
- At the same time, we recognize that addiction is a disease — not a crime. We are committed to working with law enforcement, treatment providers, and community organizations to offer alternatives to incarceration for those who suffer from substance use disorder. Through programs like drug court, diversion initiatives, and partnerships with recovery networks, we aim to get people the help they need before it’s too late.
My message message is clear:
We will prosecute the dealers who profit from death and addiction, and we will support the individuals and families who are seeking a way out.
Saratoga County is a strong, resilient community. Together, we will face this crisis head-on — with determination, with compassion, and with justice.
As your next Saratoga County District Attorney, I am committed to putting victims first by expanding and strengthening the services they depend on to rebuild their lives. Too often, victims of crime are left to navigate trauma, loss, and uncertainty without the resources they need.
That must change.
My administration will:
- Expand victim services to ensure every survivor has access to meaningful, compassionate support from the moment a crime is reported.
- Provide critical referrals for housing, medical care, mental health counseling, and financial assistance — because recovery takes more than just time, it takes help.
- Strengthen partnerships with local organizations and service providers to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care.
- Ensure every victim has a voice in the justice process — and that their voice is heard, respected, and protected.
Victims deserve more than justice in the courtroom — they deserve dignity, stability, and the opportunity to heal. As District Attorney, I will work every day to make that a reality for all.
Because justice isn’t just about prosecution — it’s about people.
As a candidate for Saratoga County District Attorney, I am committed to protecting our communities by aggressively prosecuting violent criminals and sexual offenders. The safety and well-being of our residents—especially our most vulnerable—must never be compromised.
Violent crimes and sex offenses leave lasting effects on victims, families, and communities. It is unacceptable that repeat offenders and individuals who commit these heinous acts are too often granted leniency or allowed to reenter society without sufficient accountability. As District Attorney, I will seek stricter sentences for those who commit acts of violence and sexual abuse—ensuring justice is delivered and that Saratoga County remains a safe place to live, work, and raise a family.
My administration will prioritize:
- Pursuing strict penalties for violent felonies and sex offenses within the full extent of the law.
- Opposing plea deals that reduce charges for serious violent or sexual crimes.
- Advocating for stronger bail and sentencing laws in coordination with state lawmakers.
- Supporting victims with dignity, resources, and the assurance that their cases will be pursued with the seriousness they deserve.
Justice in Saratoga County must be swift, fair, and firm. Under my leadership, violent offenders will be held fully accountable, and the rights and safety of law-abiding citizens will always come first.
